WHAT IS BLEPHAROPLASTY?

 It is a procedure in which excess eyelid skin is excised in order to give more youthful appearance.

INDICATION:

 Age related laxity and excess of upper or lower eyelid skin

Anaesthesia:

This procedure can be done both under local or general anaesthesia depending on different clinical scenario

 

PREREQUISITES FOR THE PROCEDURE:

 Any blood thinner drug should b hold prior to procedure with consultation of the cardiologist

No gross eye pathology

 

COMPLICATIONS:

 Conjunctivitis (redness of eye)

 Watering of eye

 Incomplete closure of eye (Ectropion)

Swelling of eye

Bruises

Pigmentation

Asymmetry

 

RECOVERY:

 Patient recover within one to two weeks time.
